What if Dacia aimed higher than the Bigster?

This morning, the Romanian brand of the Renault group published its commercial results for the year 2024. A year in which Dacia did well with production of 676,340 vehicles worldwide, enjoying the luxury of growth of 2.7% compared to the previous year.

In , 119,230 Dacias found buyers in 2024, including a very high proportion (63%) of Sanderos. The latter will also be restyled this year, see our exclusive illustration. But the big piece, in every sense of the word, for Dacia this year will be the 4.57 m long Bigster SUV which will allow the firm to target a new, more family-oriented and wealthier clientele. Because the most upscale versions of the Dacia Bigster exceed €30,000. From then on, nothing seems to be able to stop Dacia’s rise.

We thought about a Dacia “allroad”

With this in mind and although this type of vehicle does not appear in the product plan of the brand, now positioned “outdoor”, an anglicism targeting outdoor leisure and no longer the “low-cost” of these beginnings, we We have imagined an even more high-end model than the Bigster. Let’s call the Dacia Breakster.

Thirty centimeters longer than the Bigster, i.e. a size of 4.87 m, this station wagon with adventurer attire, in the vein of the Audi allroad, Mercedes All-Terrain and other Volvo Cross Country, would not come out of nowhere. By detailing our illustration which only serves as an example, you will easily recognize the matrix: the Renault Talisman Estate which in France had a career until 2022 before leaving the scene in complete discretion. It would in fact be a sort of restyling and a slight raising of the suspensions and the matter would be done.

And what about the legitimacy of such a model in the range? During the 1980s, in Romania, the Dacia 2000, the local equivalent of the Renault 20, did indeed transport party executives. A functional Dacia of which in some way and without any political ambition, this Dacia Breakster could claim to be the heir…

In real life, be careful, Dacia will play more “small arms” with the C-Neo project which from 2026 will bring up to date a sedan and a station wagon in the range but on the lower level (the C segment) and not not the D of “our” Breakster. The Dacia C-Neo will take up the more modern, more stylish torch lit by the Logan sedans and station wagons. An almost assured success.

This sexy but practical station wagon that Dacia is concocting for you for 2026!
