Two Nigerian brothers got into a physical altercation on Saturday shortly after 5 a.m. at Lausanne train station. The older of the two was lying in an underpass, inanimate, when staff from the Transsicura company, responsible for security at the station, tried to resuscitate him. Alerted, emergency services quickly took over. The 45-year-old man was taken to the CHUV in serious condition. He died there shortly after.

At the scene of the altercation, the victim’s brother, aged 35, was arrested by the Lausanne police and then interviewed. An investigation was opened by the Public Prosecutor’s Office to determine the circumstances of this death. At this stage, the preferred lead is focused on a dispute between these two members of the same family, reports the Vaud cantonal police.
