Future electric Renault Twingo: discover its interior
Future electric Renault Twingo: discover its interior

Renault reveals the interior of the concept previewing the next electric Twingo. With nods to that of the first generation, this interior is close to the production model, which will be launched in 2026.

The Twingo disappeared from Renault’s catalog a few months ago. But, unlike several of its competitors, the Losange is not abandoning the small city car segment. It is preparing a new generation of its entry-level product, which will be launched in early 2026.

We already know what it will look like, because the manufacturer unveiled a concept at the end of 2023 giving a good overview of the exterior look. New step today with the reveal of the interior, during the 2025 Brussels Motor Show.

The Twingo in screen time

This interior is close to the series. We can retain the entire layout, the developments should mainly concern some design and decorative features. If the exterior closely resembles that of the first generation, it is less obvious for the interior.

It must be said that in the meantime there has been a technological revolution which involves architectural changes. The Twingo 4 will thus have a large 10.1-inch touch screen at its center, like on the R5, and the driver will have 7-inch digital instrumentation in front of him. These screens are integrated into a body-colored cylindrical element, which encompasses the capsule-shaped side vents.

There is a level below incorporating the air conditioning controls. The whole thing takes on a suspended appearance above the floor, covered here with tinted cork.

If you look closely, you can find some nods to the first Twingo. According to Renault, the red button for the hazard lights encapsulated in a translucent bubble is one. But we would have liked to find the clown nose effect to crush on the top of the dashboard! The concept’s upholstery is inspired by the colorful patterns of the first generation. The same goes for the design of the storm doors.

Sliding bench seat

From the first Twingo, Renault also wants to rediscover the practical spirit. The brand has thus freed up spaces to store your belongings, for example between the front seats or with the flat area under the colored cylinder of the dashboard. A front headrest has a magnetic area that allows the passenger behind to attach their phone in front of them. A strap allows you to keep a water bottle within easy reach.

In addition, at the rear we have a sliding bench seat which folds into two parts. We can thus promote legroom or trunk volume. The future Twingo will be a 5-door.

If you were able to approach the concept at the Motor Show, you may have noticed some small changes to the exterior design, which is a little closer to the standard one. At the front, the lower part incorporates an air intake. The protections in the corners of the shield have been widened. The wheel arches and door handles have been simplified, while the lights now have an additional red base.

The new Twingo will take over the AmpR Small platform from the R5. Renault has not said more on the technical sheet, we just know that it is aiming for record consumption of 10 kWh per 100 km. The base price is also promised below €20,000 without the bonus.

This Twingo 4 will be launched in 2026, but we hope to discover it at the end of the year.
