Lamborghini sets new sales record in 2024

() Lamborghini has once again broken its sales record in 2024 in a disrupted automobile market, the Italian brand of the Volkswagen group announced on Thursday.

Lamborghini delivered 10,687 sports cars, up 6% from its previous record in 2023.

With prices starting around $300,000 for its Huracan sports car and its Urus SUV, its sales increased in its first market (+6%), Europe and the Middle East, but also in America (+7%). and in Asia (+3%), the Sant’Agata Bolognese (North) brand said in a press release.

“These results underline the success of our strategy, balancing supply and demand, with a well-calibrated order book, reinforcing the desirability of the brand and the residual value of our products”, underlined Lamborghini boss, Stephan Winkelmann .

2024 was a year of transformation for the bull brand, with a range that will now be 100% hybrid.

Its first exceptional hybrid car (with a large V12 gasoline engine and three electric motors), the Revuelto, has a full order book until the end of 2026.

The Urus SUV, which represents the majority of sales, will soon only be sold in an 800-horsepower plug-in hybrid version.

And in August, Lamborghini presented its Temerario (920 horsepower and a top speed of 340 km/h), also a hybrid which should replace its entry-level sports car Huracan in 2025.

The brand, which presented a 100% electric concept in 2023, is no longer in a hurry to switch to battery cars while its wealthy customers prefer hybrid models.

“The electric market will not be mature in 2025, and it will not be too late to have an electric car in 2030. Our approach has always proven us right,” Mr. Winkelmann underlined at the end of December in Le Figaro.
