The McDonald’s chain launched a new low-cost menu in its restaurants in the United States on Tuesday. An initiative to attract customers who have deserted the brand since its prices have increased by 40% since 2019.
According to CNN, the famous McValeur menu will notably offer an option where a customer can purchase products for $1 after purchasing one at the regular price. This is in addition to the $5 trio that was launched a few months ago.
There will also be more deals on the app. Buying local and drink specials will also be encouraged by the global chain’s franchisees.
In Canada, McDonald’s restaurants have their own McValeur menu. Breakfast, lunch and dinner items are offered daily for $4 before taxes. And the McValeur trios, which cost $5.79, include a fries, a soft drink and a choice of sandwiches. Coffee is also offered for $1 every day.
John Cena to the rescue
McDonald’s has decided to pull out all the stops as they have enlisted WWE star, wrestler John Cena, for a major marketing campaign where he will promote this new menu.
The well-known chain is trying to regain momentum after several difficult quarters. Managers will deliver the results for the last quarter on February 3. They hope that their efforts over the last few months will have borne fruit and that they will have good news to announce to their investors.
