Like every year, the rates of French banks increase. La Banque Postale, which has 11 million active customers, is no exception to the rule and publishes its prices for the year 2025 on its website. The prices of all bank cards are increasing moderately, with 60 cents of more for a Visa classic (from 45.20 to 45.80 euros of contribution for one year), and around 7 euros more for a Visa platinum (from 197.20 to 204.40 euros per year) compared to the year 2024.
But other, more significant increases were spotted at the end of December by the Moneyvox site. The costs for returning mail, that is to say if the customer no longer lives at the address indicated to the bank, increase from 7.50 euros to 20 euros, or +166% in one year. La Banque Postale specifies “that this price had not changed since 2016” and is “lower than the average price charged on the market”which is around 20 euros according to her.
Account maintenance fees, which are collected by the bank for the daily management of an account (payments, transfers, etc.), now amount to 1.90 euros per month, compared to 1.70 euros in 2024. increase, therefore, of almost 12% in one year. This increase “only concerns a very minority of customers”assures the company, which says it is “the third cheapest bank in terms of account maintenance fees”.
If you want to make an occasional transfer at a post office or in a customer relations center, it will now cost you 5.50 euros per transaction in 2025, compared to 5 euros last year, an increase of 10%. Digital transfers, from the application or the website, remain free.
The intervention commission, which applies when the bank must act due to a payment problem or incident, however, keeps the rates substantially identical. The monthly ceiling for these incident costs increases from 79 to 80 euros, a small increase of 1.27%. As Moneyvox points out, “La Banque Postale has the merit of providing such a cap, which is not the case for all banks.”
However, many fees charged by the company will not change in 2025, particularly on SEPA direct debits. La Banque Postale also ensures that it is “one of the cheapest traditional banks on the market” In France.
