If we are to believe the press release from La Poste on Friday, the high season was managed brilliantly. Between Black Friday and Christmas, the busiest time of the year, the Swiss company sorted an impressive total of 22.3 million parcels, an increase of 3.5% compared to last year. The peak of the season was recorded on December 3, 2024 with 1.3 million packages processed in a single day. An unprecedented feat for the company.
Robert Cirillo, general director of La Poste, was keen to salute the colossal effort of his teams: “I am impressed and proud of all the members of staff who, through their tireless commitment, were able to overcome this enormous quantity of shipments, so that they arrive under the tree on time. A big thank you from the bottom of my heart!” According to him, the effort was shared in all sectors: sorting centers, distribution, subsidiaries, logistics and administrative sites. After two years marked by a decline, 2024 marks the return to growth in parcel volumes, supported by the boom in online commerce and end-of-year promotions.
