In 2024, exports of agricultural, forestry and aquatic products set a record of USD 62.5 billion, an increase of 18.7% compared to 2023, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

The trade surplus reached a new record of 17.9 billion USD, up 46.8%.
Exports of main agricultural products brought in 32.8 billion USD (+22.4%); livestock products, 533.6 million USD (+6.5%); forestry products, 17.28 billion (+19.4%); aquatic products, 10.07 billion (+12.2%).
Seven product groups recorded exports of more than USD 3 billion, one more than in 2023, including wood and wood products (16.2 billion), fruits and vegetables (7.12 billion), rice ( 5.75 billion), coffee (5.48 billion).
According to Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Phùng Duc Tiên, export growth is due to a combination of factors, including improving the competitiveness of several products and conquering new markets. The numerous initiatives implemented to diversify outlets have also borne fruit.
The Deputy Minister also highlighted the efforts made to support companies in resolving their commercial disputes, managing risks linked to internationalization and maximizing benefits from free trade agreements (FTAs).
