The volume of imports and exports reached a new all-time high of some USD 800 billion, representing a growth of 15% compared to the previous year.
For 2025, the country is aiming for an increase of 9% to 10% in industrial production. |

For 2025, the last year of the current five-year plan, the objectives are even more ambitious. The ministry is targeting a 9-10% increase in industrial production, aligning with the government’s target of 8% GDP growth. In any case, this is what Phan Thi Thang, Vice-Minister of Industry and Commerce, explains to us.
“Our objective is to consolidate the economic foundations that will allow our country to enter a new phase of development. In accordance with government directives setting a GDP growth target of 8%, our sector has revised its ambitions upwards. We are now targeting an increase in the industrial production index of 9 to 10% compared to 2024, so as to fully contribute to national prosperity.“, she tells us.
To achieve these objectives, the ministry plans to strengthen its support for businesses, particularly in strategic sectors such as textiles, shoes, automobiles and steel.
