Elected officials debated the rental rates for community halls for the year 2025 during the municipal council meeting on Wednesday, December 18. A comparison with those practiced in other municipalities reveals that the scale applied in Breuil-Magné is well below the average and that it is necessary to align.
In addition, electricity bills have seriously increased, and it has also been noted that the rates granted for people outside the municipality are rarely applied, because some users go through friends from Breuillais for rentals. To limit this practice, it was decided to reduce the difference between the two tables. For example, for the cultural and theatrical hall, the weekend package for exteriors increases from 550 to 620 euros in winter, and from 425 to 510 euros for residents of the municipality. Please note that the room will be equipped with new retractable bleachers which are currently being installed. A big investment which also justifies that a deposit of 1,000 euros for the damage will be requested.
Marianne you civility
The town received the Marianne du civisme, an electoral participation competition organized by the National Federation of Associations of Former Mayors and Deputy Mayors of France (FAMAF). This award, whose objective is to promote the involvement of the population in democratic life, was presented on December 4 by Brice Blondel, prefect of Charente-Maritime, to 18 municipalities, classified according to their demographics. Breuil-Magné is first for towns with 1,001 to 3,500 registered voters, with an average participation rate of 77.73% in the last legislative elections. Patricia François, the first magistrate, thanked her constituents for their mobilization during these elections.
The actions organized in the municipality in favor of the Telethon brought in 3,609 euros which will be donated to the French Association against Myopathies (AFM).
