The price of bitcoin reached $107,487, a new all-time high, on Monday, according to Marketwatch. The most famous of cryptocurrencies has gained more than 50% since Donald Trump won the US presidential election last month.

This rise is fueled by rumors that the United States could create a large bitcoin reserve under the presidency of Donald Trump.

According to CoinDesk, Washington would not be alone in considering the creation of such a strategic bitcoin reserve, Russian lawmakers are also studying this possibility to counter the threat of Western economic sanctions.

The price of the flagship cryptocurrency was also boosted by the entry into the Nasdaq 100 of the company MicroStrategy, which holds more than 2% of the world’s bitcoin supply, worth around $42 billion. (40 billion euros).

Bitcoin seems to be one of the favorites for 2025

“Bitcoin has gained around 3% over the past day, slightly outperforming the broader market”said Alex Kuptsikevich, chief market analyst at FxPro.

“The move towards all-time highs, especially the push above $106,000, confirms the uptrend”he says.

Others believe that the democratization of bitcoin could affect its price in 2025.

“The growing adoption of bitcoin by the general public is another exciting element we expect in the new year”says Chris Crawford, managing partner of Crawford Fund Management.

“As financial advisors and institutions integrate bitcoin into their portfolios, the cryptocurrency’s limited supply combined with multiple sources of demand growth could cause further price increases”he adds.

The 2025 forecast from Presto Research, the research division of algorithmic trading company Presto, indicates that institutions will participate in the market more significantly over the next year.

The report suggests that bitcoin could reach $210,000 next yearthanks to the growing adoption of cryptocurrency by institutions and improving market fundamentals.
