When in France we are wondering how to keep the gendarmerie and police fleets in good condition, while car prices are too high to be able to consider replacing vehicles that need to be replaced, on the other side of the Rhine, the mood is less pessimistic. And it’s a car that would make an Alpine A110 which has just joined the ranks of the police force pale in comparison.
Yes, it is indeed a BMW M2 which is hidden under this livery which is usually found on Volkswagen Passats and other BMW 3 Series. But as the 460 hp was obviously not enough, it pushes the vice here up to 560 hp!
New terror of the Autobahn?
In reality this is a version passed into the expert hands of the preparer AC Schnitzer. This can be seen aesthetically in its lowered suspensions (-25 to 25 mm), a much sharper aerodynamic kit (+60 kg of downforce at the front, +80 kg at the rear with the carbon wing), or again with golden and forged rims of 20 inches at the front and 21 inches at the rear. As for the “Carbon Sport” exhaust outlets, one wonders if their sound does not cover that of the sirens!
In reality, there is little chance of coming across this police M2 AC Schnitzer on the roads, even in intervention on an unlimited portion of the Autobahn. In fact, the car is part of a campaign by the German Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport called “Tune It! Safe!” which calls on tuning enthusiasts to pay attention to the settings of their cars, to ensure that they comply with the requirements of the highway code and road safety. The car is currently on display at Europe’s largest tuning show in Essen, Germany, which runs until December 8.
