TotalEnergies denied on Tuesday any “fraud” concerning energy savings certificates (CEE) while the Minister Delegate for Energy, Olga Givernet, accused the group of having misused this aid system for renovation work energy.
In an interview with Le Parisien published Monday evening, Olga Givernet indicates that five companies are accused of “having requested CEEs for energy renovation work in private homes, when they had not been carried out, or that the results were not up to the announced energy reduction objectives.”
“Among them, there are two heavyweights in the sector, TotalEnergies and Dalkia, a 100% subsidiary of EDF, who have clearly defrauded this aid. As well as three other suppliers, Hellio Solutions, Sefe Energy and Teksial,” adds the minister. .
These five companies will have to pay a fine of 2.4 million euros in total, specifies Olga Givernet.
In a press release published in response, TotalEnergies indicates that it is not accused of any “fraud”.
“The measure pronounced in July 2024 only cancels 32 total renovation operations by TotalEnergies, representing a volume of 0.4 TWhc (or 2.8 million euros),” indicates the group.
“No financial sanction or fine accompanies this cancellation for TotalEnergies. There is therefore no fraud,” he adds.
The group contests any overestimation of the initial consumption of certain global renovation operations and indicates that it will lodge an appeal with the Council of State to contest the fine.
