The house of masculinist influencer Julien Bournival-Vaugeois will not be put up for auction on Wednesday in Quebec, since the thirty-year-old is no longer on the City’s list of bad payers, he who owed some $20,000 to the Municipality.

The influencer’s name was until recently on the list of buildings for sale for non-payment of taxes from the City of Quebec for unpaid taxes of around $20,000 for two years.
These sums were due for the influencer’s house, located on Chemin de la Plage-Saint-Laurent, on the banks of the river. To recover its debt, the City is authorized to put the property up for sale at auction, after sending multiple notices to the owner.
However, the list is regularly updated and the name of Mr. Bournival-Vaugeois has not appeared on it for several days. It is not specified whether the influencer paid his debt to the Municipality himself or whether it was settled by a third party, such as the mortgagee. The Journal also revealed that Desjardins had threatened to seize the house on Chemin de la Plage-Saint-Laurent. The financial institution has in fact registered a notice of sale by judicial control for payment defaults totaling the sum of $93,382.86.
Multiple debts
On the other hand, The Journal revealed that the influencer had incurred multiple debts, which amounted to $1.4 million.
During a recent interview on the usual sales process for non-payment of taxes, the assistant clerk of the City of Quebec, without commenting on this particular file, explained that generally, the owners will make an agreement with their creditor mortgage before the property ends up at auction.

12% interest
On its website, the City specifies that “to avoid the sale of a building at public auction, full payment of all sums claimed must be made before the start of the sale”. This includes interest which amounts to 12% per year, indicated to the Journal the Finance Department.
The sale of properties for which the debt has not been paid will be held in room RC19 of the Andrée-P.-Boucher building, at 1130, route de l’Église, in Quebec, on November 27, 2024 at 10 a.m.
