It is a 100% Moroccan duel which will take place in the group stage of the CAF Champions League between the R’batis of AS FAR and the Casaouis of Raja Athletic Club.
In the Champions League, the clash between Raja Casablanca and AS FAR, scheduled for Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. at the Larbi Zaouli stadium in Casablanca (group B), promises to be captivating. This confrontation will pit two giants of Moroccan and African football, determined to shine in this prestigious competition.
Raja, three-time Champions League champion (1989, 1997, 1999), is going through a delicate period marked by a series of five draws in Botola Pro D1, the last of which against Wydad Casablanca (1-1).
A victory in this national duel could revive a so far disappointing season, despite the recruitment of Portuguese coach Ricardo Sá Pinto last October.
AS FAR, currently third in Botola Pro, is aiming for a return to the continental summit. With a record including a Champions League (1985) and a CAF Cup (2005), the Military hope to forget their premature elimination during the previous edition.
In this group, the two Moroccan clubs will also have to face the South Africans of Mamelodi Sundowns, serious contenders, and the Congolese of AC Maniema Union, capable of playing spoilsport.
