The Casablanca Stock Exchange ended the month of June on a negative note, its benchmark index, the MASI, dropping 0.07% to 13,301.37 points (pts).

The MASI Mid and Small Cap, a thematic index which calculates the performance of the prices of small and medium-sized companies listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange, lost 1.69% to 1,207.81 points.

Counter-trend, the MASI.20, index bringing together the 20 most liquid stocks, increased by 0.18% to 1,074.81 pts and the MASI.ESG, index of companies which receive the best ESG rating, as published by Moody’s ESG Solutions took 0.3% to 968.15 pts.

In terms of sectors, the indices “Finance companies and other financial activities” (-5.64%), “Insurance” (-4.45%) and “Hardware, software and IT services” (-3.96%) showed the biggest declines.

In contrast, the “Transport Services” (+8.33%), “Distributors” (4.11%) and “Mining” (3.22%) sectors achieved the best performances. Trade reached nearly 5.3 billion dirhams (MMDH), carried out mainly on the central “Shares” market and dominated by transactions on BCP with a share of 29.34%, Attijariwafa Bank (8.8%) and Sodep-Marsa Morocco (8.13%). The market capitalization amounted to more than 692 billion dirhams.

At individual values, Fenie Brossette (-16.9% to 98.1 DH), Minière Touissit (-12.36% to 1,290 DH), Eqdom (-10.34% to 1,058 DH), Salafin (-10% to 1,058 DH), 531 DH) and M2M Group (-7.36% to 452.1 DH) recorded the biggest declines. Conversely, the largest increases were posted by Lesieur Cristal (+9.09% to 1,900 DH), Managem (+8.7% to 2,500 DH), Sodep-Marsa Maroc (+8.33% to 312 DH), Maroc Leasing (+6% to DH414.45) and Zellidja (+5.99% to DH75.36).
