Construction of 15 mini solar grids begins

(Ecofin Agency) – In June 2023, the Energy Inclusion Facility committed to providing $7.5 million in debt to MySol Grid Zambia, a subsidiary of ENGIE Energy Access, to build 60 mini-grids that will connect more than 40,000 people have electricity in Zambia.

Paygo and mini-grid solutions provider, ENGIE Energy Access, has officially started the construction of 15 solar mini-grids in Zambia. An initiative which falls within the framework of the IAEREP program financed in particular by the 11th European Development Fund.

The construction, operation and maintenance of these mini-grids will be carried out by MySol Grid Zambia, a subsidiary of ENGIE Energy Access, according to a company press release published on June 26.
