At the time of the final liquidation of the macronie, the courtiers of yesterday distance themselves from the architect of the disaster and hastily pack their boxes. But in this atmosphere of the end of the reign, some fortunately still work, in the ministries, for the continuity of the State, in the few days which still separate us from the verdict of the ballot boxes. This is the case of senior officials of the State Participation Agency (APE), in Bercy, who allowed the Minister of the Economy, Bruno Le Maire, to announce this Thursday the return under the French flag of ‘Alcatel Submarine Networks (ASN). The company specializing in laying submarine cables vital to the Internet network went abroad in 2015, when the Finnish Nokia bought the entire Alcatel group, the fallen pride of the French industry, from scrapyard. On June 26, she returned home with Bruno Le Maire signing a promise to purchase to acquire 80% of ASN.

Bercy soberly welcomed this transaction which “demonstrates the State’s capacity to invest in French companies in order to support and develop their strategic activities.”
