June 27, 2024

Its inauguration was initially scheduled for June 9, but was postponed. The result of a collaboration between SNCB and the railway companies Arriva and NS, the “Train of the Three Countries” will run for the first time this Sunday, June 30. This new direct connection between Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany will connect, among others, the cities of Liège, Maastricht and Aachen.

From this Sunday, June 30, the Three Countries Train will daily connect the stations of Liège-Guillemins (BE), Bressoux (BE), Visé (BE), Eijsden (NL), Maastricht Randwyck (NL), Maastricht (NL), Meerssen (NL), Valkenburg (NL), Heerlen (NL), Landgraaf (NL), Eygelshoven Markt (NL), Herzogenrath (D), Aachen West (D) and Aachen (D).

Between Liège-Guilllemins and Maastricht, the on-board staff is made up of SNCB drivers and train attendants. The Maastricht – Aachen connection, for its part, is provided by Arriva staff. And vice versa in the other direction…
