Sexual assault: Businessman Frank Stronach faces new charges

Arrested at the beginning of June for allegations of sexual assault, businessman Frank Stronach is facing eight new criminal charges for sexual assault and attempted rape.

Peel Regional Police on Wednesday laid six additional charges of sexual assault and two historical charges of attempted rape and indecent assault on a woman, the Toronto Star.

“Investigators from the Peel Regional Police Special Victims Unit have identified additional victims and additional charges have been laid,” a police spokesperson confirmed to the media.

According to court documents consulted by the Toronto Starthese new offences allegedly occurred in 1980, 1986 and 2023 against three victims.

For his part, the businessman’s lawyer, Me Brian Greenspan, maintained that his client “will vigorously defend these new unverified allegations” which date back to 1977.

Earlier this month, the 91-year-old man was arrested by the Ontario Police Service for five criminal offenses: rape, indecent assault on a woman, sexual assault on two women and forcible confinement. He was then released on bail.

Mr. Stronach had denied the facts through his lawyer. He is due to appear on July 8 for these first charges.

Remember that the businessman founded Magna International, one of the largest automobile equipment manufacturers in the world, but also Magna Entertainment Corp, a company specializing in the horse racing industry.
