The number of beneficiaries of the direct housing assistance program stands at 15,194 to date, the Minister of National Territorial Planning, Urban Planning and Housing told the House of Advisors on Tuesday. and Urban Policy, Fatima Ezzahra El Mansouri.

The minister indicated that the number of requests for direct housing assistance reached around 80,000 from different regions of the Kingdom, of which 89% meet the eligibility conditions, adding that 20% of these requests are submitted by Moroccans residing abroad.

This pace has a positive impact on the national economy, particularly on cement sales which increased by 21%, housing loans by 1.4% and loans to real estate developers by 4.2%, she said. clarified, noting that these “positive indicators” are proof of the success of the direct housing assistance program.

The direct housing assistance program aims particularly to facilitate access to housing for citizens residing inside or outside the country, to reduce the housing deficit, to ensure the economic take-off of the sector and to enable small and medium-sized businesses to participate in state-subsidized programs, she said.
