Inoxtag’s millions of fans finally have their answer: the young YouTuber has indeed reached the summit of Everest, an achievement recounted in a documentary retracing his ascent broadcast Friday evening in cinemas and on YouTube Saturday at 2:30 p.m.

“We don’t care about the final result. What we need is to go on an adventure, it’s all the moments I’ve lived,” he said, moved to tears and surrounded by his team and sherpas, at the end of the preview at the Grand Rex in Paris.

“Today I have made a second dream come true,” he told the hundreds of fans gathered in the hall, according to an AFP journalist on site.

Many influencers and content creators, including TiboInShape, France’s leading YouTuber, Michou, Sébastien Frit (Seb la Frite) and Cyprien, were present.

Swimmer Léon Marchand, five-time Olympic medalist, and brothers Félix and Alexis Lebrun, who shone at the Olympic Games in table tennis, also made the trip.

Titled “Kaizen” (a Japanese term one of whose meanings is “change for the better”, Editor’s note), the film was broadcast in a long version of 2 hours 40 minutes (2 hours 25 minutes for the YouTube version) during a single screening in theaters in France, the French overseas departments and territories, Belgium, Switzerland and Luxembourg, his entourage indicated in a press release.

Some 200,000 spectators had taken their seats on September 10, causing disruptions on the sales sites, according to Inoxtag itself.

The documentary traces the adventure of the 22-year-old YouTuber, followed by more than 20 million subscribers on social networks, and his challenge of climbing Everest in a year, while he knew neither the techniques nor the codes of mountaineering.

Beyond the climb itself, he talks about his intense physical preparation and learning mountaineering before tackling Everest – a necessary passage but one that not all climbers do.

His film also shows the damage caused by overtourism, pollution, as well as the risks associated with this expedition. He calls on viewers to disconnect, to move away from mobile phones.

In a farewell video to his fans in early April, viewed nearly 8 million times, Inoxtag announced that he would disconnect from all his networks while he completed his climb. Many media outlets had speculated on the success of his challenge.

Real name Inès Benazzouz, Inoxtag has nearly 8 million subscribers on YouTube, 5.9 million on TikTok and 5.2 million on Instagram.

While still in high school, he launched on YouTube in 2015 by publishing videos dedicated to video games, before diversifying with music videos.

He quickly became popular alongside other young content creators like Michou, with whom he formed “Team Croûton”.

Inoxtag is one of the creators affiliated with the Webedia group, which also includes influencers such as Joyca, Just Riadh and Domingo.
