“The figures demonstrate the considerable and positive impact of Amazon in the countries where the company is present, and in particular in Luxembourg, which has hosted our European headquarters for more than 20 years now,” underlines Jorrit Van der Meulen, vice-president. Amazon opened its first offices in the Grund district in 2003, before moving to the Kirchberg plateau, which today hosts the entire site, made up of seven buildings. “This move proved necessary to respond to the growth in the workforce, which now numbers more than 4,250 employees, which makes Amazon one of the main employers in the country according to Statec,” notes the web giant.
