After giving us information in trickles over the last few months, Acura has just officially unveiled its new entry-level compact SUV. This is theAcura ADX 2025Acura’s most affordable SUV in Canada. It will join the RDX and MDX models in the range as well as the manufacturer’s new electrified SUV, the ZDX.
Of course, prices will only be revealed later, but we know that the model will be positioned below the RDX, which is sold just above $55,000. Acura mentions that the 2025 ADX will be sold in Canada in the $40,000 price range.
Three versions for Canada
Three versions will be offered, namely the base ADX, the A-SPEC and the Platinum Elite A-SPEC. As standard, Acura promises a generous level of equipment that includes heated seats and steering wheel, a 9-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system and 18-inch wheels, among others.
In addition to unique 19-inch wheels, both A-SPEC versions also include ventilated leatherette front seats with Ultrasuede upholstery. At the top of the range, the ADX Platinum Elite A-SPEC receives gloss black exterior mirrors, black Berlina wheels and integrated Google functionality. It also offers a peripheral camera system and a high-end Bang & Olufsen audio system.
Single turbocharged engine
All will offer all-wheel drive as standard, and, under the hood, a 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. Similar to the engine used in the Acura Integra, it develops 200 horsepower and produces 192 pound-feet of torque. The engine is mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) including steering wheel-mounted shift levers that allow you to choose one of the pre-programmed gears.
The all-wheel drive system can send up to 50 percent of engine torque to the rear wheels, which Acura says helps improve handling and traction management in slippery conditions.
Four distinct driving modes are offered: snow, comfort, normal and sport. They adjust throttle response, transmission mapping, steering feel, cabin sound and gauge color.
An exclusive body color
In terms of style, the Acura ADX 2025 takes the lines of the most recent models, but with a touch of modernism. Its imposing rims and rear fenders are the basis of its stature. The front includes a grille with active shutters; The ADX 2025 will be offered in 6 exterior colors, including an all-new exclusive color, Adriatic Sea Blue Metallic.
Inside, the vehicle focuses on dynamism and technology. It offers a 10.2-inch instrumentation package called Acura Precision Cockpit, as well as a 9-inch touch screen to control the infotainment system. The stylists decided to keep a physical button for volume control, certainly a good thing.
“The all-new Acura ADX is an exciting addition to our expanding lineup in Canada. Our newest performance-oriented SUV will act as another entry point for our brand,” said James Marchand, assistant vice-president of Acura Canada. “The ADX is a premium compact SUV that appeals to a growing segment of buyers and will appeal to a new generation of Acura vehicle enthusiasts. »
The 2025 Acura ADX should be on sale in Canada on 1is quarter of 2025. This is certainly the model that Acura will be banking on to relaunch the brand.
