Zurich (awp) – The two co-general managers of Bank Vontobel, Georg Schubiger and Christel Rendu de Lint, draw a positive assessment, almost a year after taking office. They said this in an interview with Finanz und Wirtschaft. They added that the bank is on the right track, despite surrounding challenges.
Mr. Schubiger believes that the Zurich institute is very well positioned, enjoys a solid business model and great potential for further growth. In recent years, the bank has continually developed its core business with institutional and private clients.
Ms. Rendu de Lint highlighted the importance of specialized investment teams that offer comprehensive solutions. This is more important than ever in the face of changing macroeconomic conditions and higher volatility.
The asset management segment remained below expectations recently, but fund outflows were significantly reduced compared to 2023, Mr. Schubiger noted. His colleague added that the entire sector is suffering from these refluxes.
Business with private clients is developing positively. Over the first nine months, the inflow of funds exceeded forecasts by 4.2%. The targeted objective of 4-6% is valid for an entire cycle of 3-4 years, noted Mr. Schubiger.
