Battle of bosses to twist the arm of industrialists

Coincidence of the calendar… Two retail bosses are speaking today on two different subjects but with the same ambition: to twist the arm of their suppliers. The first, Thierry Cotillard, boss of the Mousquetaires, intends to require his dairy product suppliers to conclude a prior negotiation with their breeders. The idea, to put it simply, is to negotiate a price with Lactalis, Savencia or Bel only once the breeders themselves have price visibility for the coming year. Certainly an initiative that takes Egalim's logic literally.

Another subject but the same approach: Alexandre Bompard, Carrefourien-in-chief, warns his suppliers that the brand will now communicate on its site the Nutriscore rating of all products (and not just its private labels). In just the right amount of provocation, Alexandre Bompard accepts in advance the idea that some of his suppliers refuse such advertising. But, in this case, Carrefour announces in advance that it will tell its customers. As Leclerc already does (see below).
