After 130 years of history, Garant marks a major turning point by launching its first electric excavator on the market, in anticipation of the fast-approaching winter. This new product category represents a more than interesting growth opportunity for the company.
According to Pierre-Yves Martin, general manager of Garant, this new cordless electric snow shovel is the result of nearly two years of research and development by internal teams, which adds to the pride of the result.

“All the innovation comes from here, from Quebec, 100%. We have always been in non-motorized products, and when I arrived three years ago, I had a different vision to grow the company by moving towards motorized products,” said Mr. Martin.
This new offering adds to the wide range of products from Garant, which is a leader in the manufacturing of construction, gardening and snow removal tools.
“It’s a nice complement. It still remains in the same line of external products and it fills a void that we had,” he added.
The idea of developing an electric excavator of 100% Quebec design quickly won over the teams, who fully embarked on the project.
New market
That’s not all, because in addition to the electric snow shovel, Garant will add electric snow blowers to its offering in November 2025. Nothing less. According to Mr. Martin, these new products represent a 20% growth opportunity for the company, which is hiring more than 300 workers at its Saint-François-de-la-Rivière-du-Sud plant, in the Chaudière region. -Appalachia.
“That’s what we’re aiming for. We try to be quite conservative. It can go faster than we think,” he continued.
