Compagnie de Transports au Maroc (CTM) announced, on June 12, 2024, the acquisition of 51% of the shipping company Africa Morocco Links (AML) by purchasing the majority stake held by Bank of Africa (BOA) for a amount of 307 million dirhams.

This transaction, approved by the competent authorities, marks a strategic turning point for CTM, which is preparing to integrate AML’s maritime operations into its service portfolio.

Created in 2016, Africa Morocco Links (AML) specializes in maritime connections between Europe and Morocco, particularly between the ports of Tanger Med and Algeciras, as well as Tanger Ville and Tarifa.

With this acquisition, CTM strengthens its position in the multimodal mobility sector, aiming to offer integrated transport solutions for passengers and goods. This expansion will allow CTM to diversify its services while capitalizing on AML’s maritime expertise.

The acquisition of AML is part of CTM’s growth strategy, which seeks to become a key player in regional mobility. By combining its land transport skills with AML’s maritime expertise, CTM aims to offer a smooth and efficient transport experience, meeting the growing mobility needs between Morocco and Europe.

This operation also reinforces CTM’s commitment to investing in modern transport infrastructure, while supporting economic development and trade in the region.
