Videos showing parcel delivery drivers who are not gentle with packages regularly create buzz. This Thursday afternoon, the surveillance camera of a resident of Huldenberg (Flemish Brabant) captured an example.
In the video, relayed by our colleagues from Laatste Nieuws, we see a DPD delivery man briskly entering the aisle and, without ringing the doorbell, dropping the package from its full height.
The owner reacts with dismay. “They didn’t even call even though I was at home,” Jimmy says indignantly. “Normally they leave it normally and ring the doorbell. Now I got a message on my cell that someone was at the door and then this. Luckily it was only dog food and nothing breakable, but that didn’t show on the packaging. I heard him say all sorts of things, so he was probably on the phone at the same time. I’ve never experienced this before. “.
“I was in shock, I asked myself how it was possible…”: after the Bpost postman passed by, this Belgian looked at the images from her surveillance camera…
The DPD delivery service, which also saw the video, announced that it had opened an internal investigation. “First we will find out who this driver is,” said spokesman Tom De Bruyckere.
“But the way this customer’s package is handled here does not match how DPD views customer service. This is absolutely unacceptable. Appropriate measures will be taken. The courier service cannot provide further details on possible measures. »
Here’s why your delivery person takes photos of your packages: “More and more cases among my colleagues”
“We want to know who it is first. This can be a DPD employee, but also a person who drives as a contractor or independent delivery person,” explains De Bruyckere. They also promise to contact the customer to apologize.
