Al Akhawayn University of Ifrane recently hosted the 3rd edition of the national robotics competition, AUROBAT 2024. This event brought together around thirty teams from different regions of Morocco, illustrating the growing interest in robotics and technological innovation in the country.

Organized by the Center for Innovation in Information Technologies for Human Development (CITI) and the Tawasol Association for Technology Development (ATDTec), this competition aims to stimulate young people to invest in robotics. . It highlights not only technical skills but also fundamental values ​​such as team spirit, solidarity, knowledge sharing, environmental protection and leadership.

Under the theme of “the design of a ladybug robot”, the 2024 edition of AUROBAT attracted 11 university teams and 19 teams from college and qualifying secondary education cycles. These teams demonstrated creativity and talent in an atmosphere of healthy competition and cooperation.

In the senior category, the Mechatronics Club team from Mohammedia won the grand prize, followed by the RoboReines team from Marrakech. In the junior category, the teams “Great Idea” from Tiznit, “Coccibot”, and “Collège Senhaja” from Sefrou respectively won the first three places, thus demonstrating the potential and ingenuity of young Moroccans.

During this event, a special tribute was paid to Brahim Lakhdar and Saleh Hassouni, two robotics experts and active members of the ATDTech association. Their commitment and significant contributions to the development of robotics in Morocco were praised by all participants.

AUROBAT 2024 is part of a series of initiatives organized either as part of class projects or in robotics and scientific clubs within educational establishments. According to the organizers, this event plays a crucial role in transmitting knowledge and skills in robotics, while inspiring young people to explore and innovate in this growing field.
