The Swiss Engineering Delegates Assembly re-elected Giovanni Crupi as central president for a new term. The professional association of engineers·es and architects is expanding its offering with the new Artificial Intelligence professional group.

Giovanni Crupi remains at the head of Swiss Engineering as central president. The Assembly of Delegates elected Giovanni Crupi on June 8 in Bienne by a large majority for a second three-year term. “I consider the vote of the delegates as a confirmation of my work so far and as a challenge for my second term,” commented Giovanni Crupi. The re-elected president wants to make membership in Swiss Engineering even more attractive. “To this end, we want to further intensify the networking of our members and our partner companies. In addition, we want to identify synergies with partner associations and develop joint offers for our members.

The newly created Artificial Intelligence professional group must play a key role in this regard. Delegates officially approved the admission of this grouping during their assembly. The new grouping will help to make the best use of the potential of artificial intelligence. To this end, it will offer information, seminars and events to specifically convey the ever-changing developments in AI. The focus is on the role of artificial intelligence in engineering.

According to Giovanni Crupi, the new professional group will play a key role in networking the association’s members beyond their respective fields.

“Artificial intelligence is a cross-cutting issue. That is why we cannot hide in the silos of our disciplines, we must think in an interdisciplinary way,” explains the central president. “Treating this subject will give new impetus to the association and will help to make membership even more interesting, in particular for young engineers,” continued Giovanni Crupi. We want to meet the needs of today’s engineers.
