Two law firms merge in Sherbrooke

“In January, we moved to new premises and we had the capacity to grow and an interest in looking for partners,” indicates Me Jean-Jacques Rainville, president of the Board of Directors of Dunton Rainville. We wanted to have a greater critical mass and we were looking for people with depth to the Sherbrooke team. Me Frédéric Benoit of Hackett Campbell Bouchard was very interested and it clicked from the start.”

The offices of the unified teams are located at 1910 King Street West.

This merger will add experience to Dunton Rainville, particularly in civil and commercial litigation, as well as real estate and construction law.

“These are people with 24 years, 26 years, 15 years or 14 years of experience,” explains Me Jean-Jacques Rainville. It’s a team with a lot of experience. We have a lot of very good young people, but it will add depth to the team. We are becoming one of the big offices in Sherbrooke.”

Me Rainville assures that nothing changes for the clients of these two firms.

“We even kept the old telephone numbers. The only thing that changes is that customers will have access to a larger network with more resources. It’s a continuation with more tools and means.”

Hackett Campbell Bouchard was founded in 1962 in Sherbrooke.

Dunton Rainville is a firm bringing together more than 265 people, including some 125 lawyers, notaries and labor relations advisors. The company has offices in Montreal, , Longueuil, Joliette, Saint-Jérôme, Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu and Sherbrooke.
