For Loan Léton, the pill is hard to swallow. His dismissal dates back to the beginning of October, but the anger and the “feeling of injustice” are still very strong among this former employee of the Concentrix call center, located in Compiègne. The company terminated his contract on October 9, after he sent a GIF, an animated image, of the cartoon character Homer Simpson on Teams.

“I simply wanted to lighten the atmosphere,” he pleads, explaining that the exchange between employees and HR became heated on professional messaging, after the announcement of a delay in salary payment. “My dismissal for serious misconduct is solely linked to the GIF,” denounces Loan Léton.

Contacted by Le Parisien, the company did not wish to comment. In the columns of actu.fr, the management of the company explains that “Contrary to what has been invoked by certain trade union organizations, these dismissals are in no way linked to the reasons mentioned (…) The decisions were taken on the basis of valid and legal criteria, in accordance with the regulations in force”. A testimony to watch in the video at the top of the article.
