be careful, the RER and TER will be severely disrupted during the All Saints’ Day holidays

Please note, RER and TER traffic is expected to be significantly disrupted during the All Saints’ Day holidays. Work on a railway bridge in Saint-Denis will slow down traffic during two crucial weekends.

Ile-de- transport users will not be spoiled this fall and will have to take precautions. RER and TER traffic will be severely disrupted during the All Saints’ Day holidays, declared the SNCF and the Île-de-France prefecture.

The weekends affected are Friday October 25 to Sunday October 27, November 1 to 3 and November 23 to 24.

Consequently, only one train in two will run all day on the northern axis of RER B and D, and a little more than one train in two will run on line H. Only one TER per hour will run between and , while traffic between Paris and will be limited to six TER per day. Traffic on line K will be suspended.

“It is a question of improving the circulation of daily users, of modernizing the RER B line, of connecting it to the Grand Paris Express network, of preparing the arrival of the Charles de Gaulle Express” (a rapid connection between Paris and Roissy airport) in 2027, indicated the prefect of the Ile-de-France region Marc Guillaume, during a press conference.

These disruptions are caused by the replacement of a railway bridge dating from 1894 in Saint-Denis. “The new bridge will have a span of 143 meters, a record in Europe, and a height of 16.5 meters,” said SNCF CEO Jean-Pierre Farandou. The old bridge will be dismantled and certain parts will be given to French research to study ancient iron.
