9th edition of Hearing Health at Work Week from October 14 to 19, 2024

Initiated by the National Hearing Association, the 9th edition of Hearing Health at Work Week will take place from October 14 to 19, 2024. This annual event, now well anchored in the workplace prevention landscape, is supported at the local level by the four hearing centers ”La Passion de l’Audition” located in , Freyming Merlebach, Creutzwald and Rohrbach-les-bitche. During this week, the focus is on noise pollution at work. With the industrial revolution, the generalization of open spaces and noise pollution in general, hearing health in the professional environment has become a major concern. Noise, even at moderate levels, can have serious consequences on the quality of life and productivity of employees. Hearing Health Week at Work aims to draw attention to these risks and encourage companies to adopt effective prevention measures to preserve the hearing health of employees. According to a study published in September 2024 by Ifop for the National Hearing Association, more than six in ten working people (62%) say they are bothered by noise in their workplace, a proportion up ten points in one year. Among the repercussions in terms of health: fatigue, stress, weariness and irritability, sleep disorders, tinnitus, etc.

Protection and prevention

For Lucile Faivre and Bastien Blondel, founders of the ”La Passion de l’Audition” laboratories, this event is a good opportunity to raise awareness among employees and managers about the hearing risk at work but also to communicate on solutions and good practices in matters of prevention and hearing protection for all. If you have any doubts about your hearing, do not hesitate to go to one of the ”La Passion de l’Audition” centers to carry out a hearing test. A simple screening can help you spot potential problems and take action quickly. If you have any questions regarding the use of noise-cancelling earplugs or would like more information on hearing screening, the teams are available to advise and support you. Don’t wait, get in touch now to preserve your hearing health!
