[DIGITAL Business Africa] – The French president tested a teleconsultation on this 100% Cameroonian Waspito health platform. And we could see the dismay on his face accompanied by a smile when the doctor (online) from Cameroon answered him directly just a few seconds after the call launched by Jean Lobé Lobé, his promoter. The scene took place on the sidelines of the Francotech innovation fair in .

The Salon des innovations en français is a major economic event organized on the sidelines of the 19th Francophonie Summit. The event’s mission is to boost commercial exchanges and economic flows between French-speaking actors around the world, in particular through the highlighting of offers, innovative models and modern entrepreneurial successes within the French-speaking world.

For the Waspito startup, this is a big step that the startup has just taken.

“It is with great pride that we were able to present Waspito in person to the French President, Emmanuel Macron. A unique moment for the entire team, represented on site by Jean Lobé Lobé our CEO, who was able to highlight the innovation of our digital health platform, born and developed from Africa.

The president (Macron) was impressed by the technology we have put in place to facilitate access to care, and this motivates us even more to move forward! A huge thank you to Jérôme Hénique for his constant support, as well as to Ventures and Orange Digital Center Cameroun for always believing in us…”

, conquered territory

Waspito did not discover France via Francotech. The startup was present there on June 15, 2023 in Paris during Viva Technology (VivaTech). She even won the Africa Tech Awards final in the Health Tech category.

Which makes Waspito the first Cameroonian start-up to be crowned in this international competition. In 2022, the Cameroonian fintech DreamCash had already been selected for this same competition. This recognition thus highlights the talents abounding in the national triangle.

Founded in 2020 by Cameroonian Jean Lobé Lobé, the startup Waspito successfully raised $2.7 million to support its growth in Cameroon and expand into Ivory Coast. It was able to attract investors such as Launch Africa Ventures, Newtown Partners and Orange Ventures.
