The Casablanca Stock Exchange closes on a positive note

The Casablanca Stock Exchange closed its trading on a positive note on Wednesday, its flagship index, the MASI, gaining 0.92% to 14,148.99 points (pts)

The MASI.20, an index bringing together the 20 most liquid stocks, and the MASI.ESG, an index of companies with the best ESG rating, as published by Moody’s ESG Solutions, rose, respectively, 0.96% to 1,136, 71 pts and 0.91% to 1,014.85 pts.

For its part, the MASI Mid and Small Cap, the thematic index which calculates the price performance of small and medium-sized companies listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange, gained 0.61% to 1,350.97 pts.

On the international side, the FTSE CSE Morocco 15 and the FTSE CSE Morocco All-Liquid recorded respective increases of 1.01% to 13,351.65 pts and 1.06% to 11,848.69 pts.

On a sectoral level, the “Electricity” index (+3.03%) recorded the largest increase, followed by the “Real estate participation and development” indices (+2.64%) and “Banks” (+1.46 %). On the other hand, the sectors of holding companies (-2.66%), real estate investment companies (-1.49%) and computer hardware, software and services (-0.82%) recorded the biggest declines.

The overall volume of trade stood at 235.52 million dirhams (MDH), carried out entirely on the Central market (Shares) and dominated by transactions on Taqa Morocco (36.23 MDH), Travaux général de Construction de Casablanca (27.03 MDH) and Aradei Capital (21.45 MDH).

The market capitalization exceeded 730.46 billion dirhams.

On the value front, Promopharm SA (+5.91% to 1,076 DH), Créations Mécaniques (+5.46% to 449.85 MDH), Mutandis SCA (+3.69% to 309 DH), Lesieur Cristal ( +3.13% to 284.95 DH) and Jet Contractors (+3.13% to 1,186 DH) posted the best performances.

On the other hand, the biggest declines were posted by BMCI (-6.02% to 560 DH), Delta Holding (-2.68% to 54.01 DH), Aradei Capital (-1.92% to 510 DH) , Involys (-1.87% to 99.95 DH) and Ennakl (-1.49% to 33 DH).
