Optimism about exports by the end of the year

Thanks to the results obtained over the past nine months and the efforts of companies, it is expected that exports by the end of the year will continue to improve.

Although the total amount of exports during the first nine months of the year has not yet been officially announced, it is estimated to have reached USD 300 billion, an increase of 16% compared to the same period of last year.

According to the newspaper Lao Dong (Labour), Tran Thanh Hai, vice director of the Foreign Trade Agency of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, said that seven product groups recorded an export turnover of more than 10 billion USD, including computers, shoes and sandals, wood and wood products.

Typhoon Yagi seriously affected agriculture in the northern provinces. Currently, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the affected localities are working to restart production to respond well to export orders.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Phùng Duc Tiên affirmed that his sector is making great efforts with the determination to achieve the export target set by the government, i.e. an amount of 54 to 55 billion of USD.

Regarding the prospects for national exports by the end of the year, Tran Thanh Hai expressed optimism, given the good pace of shipments of goods abroad.

According to the director of the Statistics Office of the Planning and Investment Department of Ho Chi Minh City, Nguyen Khac Hoang, many local companies reported having stable orders by the end of 2024, with some orders even going as far as ‘in the first quarter of 2025.
