The liter of gasoline at the pump goes from 3,440 Congolese Francs to 2,990.49 Congolese Francs in the West zone, a reduction of 13%.

As for diesel, its price falls by the same proportion of 13 ℅, from 3,435 CDF to 2,979.73 CDF.

This drop in fuel prices at the pump follows a decree signed, on Wednesday October 2, 2024, by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the National Economy, Daniel Mukoko Samba.

The Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo reassures operators in the sector that it is closely following the evolution of oil prices on the world market.

For the National Executive, this measure is justified firstly by the need to preserve the purchasing power of the Congolese, in line with the commitments of Head of State Felix-Antoine Tshisekedi.

With this in mind, the Government of the DRC intends to continue the reforms initiated in the petroleum product distribution sector with the objective of maintaining a downward dynamic in the market for goods and services dependent on these energy resources.

In the meantime, the Ministry of the National Economy is working to reimburse shortfalls incurred by operators in the sector,
while ensuring that this financial effort does not “excessively” burden the public treasury.

The private sector having been involved in each stage of these reforms, the Government of the DRC expects rigorous application of the agreed price reductions.
