According to the General Statistics (GSO), exports in April were estimated at 30.94 billion USD, an increase of 10.6 percent year-on-year, and those in the first four months were estimated at 123.64 billion USD (+15%).

Of this total, Vietnamese companies contributed USD 33.62 billion, accounting for 27.2% of the total, and foreign-invested companies (including crude oil) contributed USD 90.02 billion and 72%. .8%.

Exports to major markets such as the United States, the European Union and China all experienced double-digit growth. Specifically, the United States was Vietnam’s largest export market with a turnover of USD 34.1 billion (+19.1%), followed by China with USD 18 billion. (+14.4%) and the European Union (EU) with 16.4 billion USD (+15%).

Among the product groups shipped abroad, 21 had a turnover of more than one billion USD each, accounting for 86.4% of the total, and another five more than five billion USD (57.8 % of total).

Notably, in the first four months, phones and components of all types brought in over USD 18.4 billion, up 6.6% year-on-year and were also the 2nd most valuable item. highest export among all items exported from Vietnam.

Vietnam has overtaken India to become the world’s second-largest smartphone exporter after China. Currently, smartphones “made in Vietnam” represent 13% of the global market share.

The United States was Vietnam’s largest customer for the product, with over USD 3.05 billion in four months, up 30.4% from the same period in 2023. The second largest market was China with more than 2.5 billion USD, down 28% year-on-year.

The United Arab Emirates notably became Vietnam’s third largest customer with 897,984 USD, a jump of 55.3% year-on-year.
