The various aids from the family allowance fund (CAF) will be paid this month, but with a little delay, explains “Midi libre”. Here’s why.

If, looking at your bank account, you have not received aid from CAF, such as active solidarity income (RSA) or personalized housing aid (APL), do not worry. As our colleagues from Midi libre explain, the May calendar would explain certain delays in payment of aid.

Indeed, if you benefit from this aid, you should know that it is usually paid on the 5th of each month. However, for this month of May 2024, the 5th corresponds to a Sunday, a day of the week when this type of transfer does not work. Midi libre indicates that you will have to wait until May 8, or even until May 9, to receive these allowances. The newspaper relays in passing the explanation given by the family allowance fund website: “If the 5th of the month falls on a Saturday, payments are made on Friday the 4th. If it is a Sunday, payments are made on Monday the 6th.”

Thus, depending on the beneficiaries’ banks, the day of receipt of aid may vary, up to May 9.

Millions of French people concerned

For this month of May, we will therefore have to be patient for all concerned: with this payment delayed due to the calendar, millions of French people are affected. Indeed, a CAF report for the second half of 2023 counted 1.84 million households benefiting from the RSA. Obviously, we must add millions of French people to this figure if we also count the beneficiaries of APL, the allowance for disabled adults or even the activity bonus.
