The leader in the book and cultural leisure sector, Renaud Bray, announced on Tuesday that he had acquired the artistic equipment sales company, DeSerres.

In a press release published early this afternoon, Renaud Bray indicated that the transaction concerns the 28 points of sale established in Quebec, Ontario, Nova Scotia and British Columbia, the company’s website ( deserres.ca), but also the company Cadres Verbec, specializing in framing supplies and services, as well as the stationery products distributor Lamarche Importation.

Since 1908, three generations have succeeded each other at the head of this Quebec flagship, underlined the company.

“We salute the hard work of Marc DeSerres, a passionate ambassador of the arts, who has reinvented his company over the years,” declared Blaise Renaud, president of Renaud-Bray.

The latter also underlined that the two companies have many points in common: “They are Quebecois, multigenerational, focused on the world of culture”.

For his part, Marc DeSerres explained that “for some time” he had been looking for a buyer to ensure the future of his company.

“The time has come for me to hand over the baton and I do so with complete confidence,” he declared. I have no doubt that the teams of the Renaud-Bray group […] will be able to sustain the freedom to create.”

The amount of the transaction has not been disclosed.

The Renaud-Bray group brings together the Renaud-Bray bookstores, the Archambault stores, the Griffon boutiques, the Prologue and Pierre Belvédère distributors. It currently has a network of 91 branches.
