Frozen Nutella pancakes, the new thing tested by Ferrero in several stores

After ice cream, cakes and bars, Ferrero wants to test consumer interest in a new variation of its star Nutella spread. This is why the food giant has put frozen pancakes filled with Nutella on sale in a few stores. The company, however, chose not to highlight this new feature and did not accompany the launch with any advertising, BFM TV reported this Thursday.

The frozen pancakes sold in packs of six are therefore only available in Carrefour group supermarkets throughout the country. They can also be ordered and collected via the Drive service. For this culinary exclusivity, you will have to pay 4.89 euros for a box. To enjoy it, simply remove the product from its packaging and heat it in the microwave.

A “teaching test phase”

According to the message on the box, Ferrero promises a Nutella crest that is “delicious, easy and quick to prepare”. On TikTok, some Internet users who tasted the product explained that it was also tasty after being reheated in a pan. What Ferrero has described as a “brand test phase” allows the Italian group to continue its diversification in terms of product ranges.

The company had already launched other frozen products: ice creams, muffins and croissants all containing Nutella. Its objective is to reach 15% market share for this type of food. “Ferrero’s ambition is to grow the frozen pastries segment, which has until now been dominated by private labels,” the company said.
