Riding a two or three-wheeler in , what are the terms and prices for parking on the street?

While there is much more talk about the new pricing structure for certain categories of cars, which will come into effect in Paris on October 1st and whose parking rate could go up to €225 for six hours, let’s remember that visitors on two-wheelers who want to park on the surface in the capital must also pay the high price: up to €37.50 for six hours (excluding subscribers and residents), the maximum authorized consecutive duration. Thus, since September 1, 2022, parking has become chargeable for motorized two-wheelers (2RM) – motorcycles and scooters – in Paris. The vehicles concerned by this paid on-street parking are those in categories L1 to L3 as well as L5in other words almost all vehicles – excluding motor quadricycles, quads and other sidecars, which are subject to the rates applicable to cars and small vans (VL).

Wrong location? Beware of removal!

It should also be noted that 2RM vehicles can park in Paris on public roads in dedicated spaces marked motorcycles or 2RM, but also on the paid parking strip used by cars. On the other hand, parking on sidewalks and in spaces reserved exclusively for bicycles is strictly prohibited for motorized two- and three-wheelers, under penalty of fine and removal. Finally, be aware that in Paris, surface parking is chargeable (for all vehicle categories) from Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., excluding Sundays and public holidays, including in August. Below are the parking prices for 2RM in Paris intra muros, depending on the arrondissement.
