Reading Nights in on the theme of heritage

EVENT – The City of is once again joining forces with the major national meeting of “Nuits de la lecture”, organized by the National Book Center for the Ministry of Culture from January 22 to 25, 2025. The theme is, this year, that of heritage, available in all their forms within the City's libraries to celebrate the pleasure of reading and to discover the places of the book.

The major national meeting of Reading Nights, organized by the National Book Center for the Ministry of Culture, returns to Grenoble from Wednesday January 22 to Saturday January 25, 2025. An event with which, as in 2024, the municipality to celebrate the pleasure of reading and introduce everyone to places of books.

The theme chosen this year? Heritage, which will be presented in all its forms, within the City's libraries. “ Intimate or collective, heritage refers to what has been transmitted to us and which brings us together, whether on the scale of a family, a territory or a nation. », Explains the City.

On the program: workshops, concerts, fun times, readings, unusual visits… all at nightfall, when Grenoble residents will be able to join the municipal libraries. Over four evenings, they will offer an exceptional program accessible to all, with multiple artists and local partners, “ in a participatory and festive spirit », Indicates the City.

Two exhibitions to discover during these four days

In addition to reading in all its forms, the event offers the opportunity to discover exhibitions. In particular the one entitled “Welcome to the Villa Fit” at the Les Munitionnettes library (Alliance district), which brings together archive photos, works of art and testimonies echoing the industrial past of the library, from January 18 to 29 March

Or the participatory exhibition “Alice tells “story(s) of my house” at the Mimi Mingat-Lerme library (Abbaye – Bajatière district). “ Between drawing, cartography, gleaned texts and old postcards, the notebook artist Alice Raconte presents her research on her century-old house », specifies the program. This exhibition will take place from January 24 to February 20, 2025.
