Whether they’ve just let out their first cry or are still waiting to express themselves, the little ones are here, ready to conquer the world… or, for now, just to demand their milk with all the authority they know. On this January 1st, let’s shake things up: happy new year to them, these CEOs of family chaos, undisputed masters of sleepless nights and tappers of endless piles of laundry.
Faced with resolutions that adults always hope will be good, but that they know will be ephemeral, what measures would future kids adopt? No more crying until 3 a.m.… unless I feel like it. Save the Earth by stopping the use of disposable wipes by my parents, even (or especially) on the train… gniarf, gniarf, gniarf…
Actually, let’s be real: these lovable bullies won’t keep any of their promises. Their charm will absolve them of all their misdeeds.
Cuddly toys…and Books
What if we also bequeathed them a treasure that spans the ages: a love of books? Parents, grandparents, friends, loved ones… slip a book not far from their faces. Read to them until they are thirsty — this is a good time for libations — bedtime stories.
UNUSUAL – Little jars, full of vitamins and healthy reading
Reading, from a very young age, is the most beautiful resolution to keep: a source of calm, imagination, well-being (for them as much as for you), the turned pages will replace tears, in a soothing cocoon , far from the tumult of the world.
The planet we leave them would not really pass the quality criteria of a second-hand site. Leaders play more at stacking conflicts than cubes. And for a long time, play mats have given way to visions at the grassroots level…
The adult, this child that we are still looking for
Especially since we admit it: these babies are one step ahead, knowing intuitively that it’s all a question of marketing. In a few years, influencers in pajamas, they will be selling connected pacifiers with a toothless smile. The infant business is a gold mine, and they are ready to be majority shareholders… before they have even learned to walk.
But let’s not go too fast! Before becoming voters or decision-makers, our babies of 2025 will turn a peaceful evening into a triathlon of diapers, bottles and endless pampering.
TO READ – Read to babies every day – EVERY DAY!
Their vision of New Year’s Eve? A world where midnight is just a rumor and the festivities end well before dessert time. And in ten years, organizing their 2035 New Year’s Eve, they will laugh about this first day spent in an overheated maternity ward, in front of delighted, but groggy parents.
My program: “Nap for everyone!”
Until then, forgive us for the holy mess in force, sorry for the traffic jams, the climate crises, and the already saturated social networks.
Because you have what we no longer have: an infinite capacity to reinvent, to rebuild, to marvel. So, dear kids of 2025, cry, dance, live. And above all, read. Books will be a refuge, a companion, and a source of joy, “ long, long, long, after your pureeshave disappeared», sang the poet.
TO READ – Reading to your child will teach them hundreds of thousands of words
You are our hope, even if, for now, you are mainly our reason to buy liters of coffee. Happy New Year to you, little geniuses in diapers. May 2025 be sweet, funny, and full of naps for us all.
