The Castelmaurou book fair will be back in 2025. The date has just been revealed. It will open its doors on Sunday April 27. For this great occasion, the author Romain Puértolas will be the guest of honor. Very well known to the general public, the Montpellier native Romain Puértolas has, among other things, written “The extraordinary journey of the fakir who got stuck in an Ikea wardrobe” which met with great success, or even “The Little Girl who swallowed a cloud as big as the Eiffel Tower”, “A whole summer without Facebook”, “The New Adventures of the Fakir in the Land of Ikea”, “The Police of Flowers, Trees and Forests”, “Under the Umbrella d’Adelaïde”, “Les Ravissantes” or “How I found Xavier Dupont de Ligonnès”. A short story writing competition will also be launched for this 5th edition. The author launches the following incipit: “Without waiting for the others, Stephen swallowed in one gulp the glass of red wine that had just been served to him. He gave a little grunt that many took for satisfaction and, even before to utter a word, rolled his eyes and collapsed on the table. Interested people can now participate in the competition until Sunday March 16, 2025. The competition rules can be obtained by email at: [email protected]. Two very nice surprises that will delight reading and writing enthusiasts!
