The unveiling of the stamps took place Wednesday evening at the Palais des Congrès, as part of the Montreal Book Fair.

The 71-year-old Quebec author, first Canadian and Haitian elected to the French Academy Dany Laferrière, as well as the 95-year-old novelist from New Brunswick, Antonine Maillet, were on hand to mark the occasion.
“Through their sharp outlook on the world, its flaws and its hopes, these notable figures of Franco-Canadian literature hold up to us an implacable and sensitive mirror. Their talent shines today in the Francophonie and elevates local literature to the height of universal literature. Collectively, their work has earned them a large number of distinctions and prizes, some of which are international,” we can read at the Canada Post kiosk at the Montreal Book Fair.
