The Lir'en Plum children's book fair is set up at the Plumergat media library

The 28e edition of the Lir'en Plum book fair, organized by the L'Arlequin-Bleu school, opened its doors on Friday November 22, 2024 and is already seeing good attendance. For the first time, it is being held in the conference room of the media library, in Plumergat (Morbihan).

This cultural event thus brings itself closer to a new audience and has become, over time, a moment highly anticipated by families. confides Muriel Le Barh, teacher who launched this annual event. Open every day, during media library hours, until Saturday November 30, it brings young readers and parents to discover new works, but also to come and meet the authors.

A €4 voucher

On Saturday, Frédéric Faragorn, storyteller and children's author, came to sign his works and tell some stories. I am delighted to meet my young audience and to discuss with them about my two albums, the Kikalaopatapoutouf et Albertine Nonsens. Passionate about writing and theater, I like playing with words to the delight of children confides the author.

The main objective of this fair is to introduce children to books and to develop the desire to read from an early age. Each student at the school benefits from a €4 voucher offered by the secular association explains the teacher. A second objective is to encourage meetings and exchanges between authors and the public during signing sessions.

More than 400 works

Wednesday, November 27, Christelle Le Guen, illustrator, Catherine Latteux and John Wray, authors, will come to meet the children, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. More than 400 works (picture books, albums, documentaries, novels) are exhibited during this week, in partnership with the Auréole d'Auray bookstore. A selection of books dyscool, for children and adolescents with reading disorders, is also presented.

A small space for older children, middle school students and adults to also present some new literary works concludes Muriel Le Barh.
