The La Fouillade Book Festival on Saturday July 27 will provide an opportunity to meet two former Aveyron ministers who, as friends of the Festival, will accompany three authors for whom they recently wrote the preface: Anne-Marie Escoffier and Jacques Godfrain.

Anne-Marie Escoffier, former senator and minister responsible for State Reform and Decentralization under François Hollade, who has just written the preface to Roger Lajoie-Mazenc’s latest book, “L’Écrit et l’Oral”. “A press review in the form of an end-of-year exercise” warns the author who, between writing and speaking, shares with the reader his many commitments throughout his sporting, military, associative, activist and journalistic life. She will be present at his side for part of the day.

Jacques Godfrain, former deputy mayor of Millau and Minister of Cooperation under Jacques Chirac, wrote the preface to one of the latest books by Pierre Carayon: “My Gaullist Years as a Young Innkeeper” and by Michel Lombard: “Our Young Years (1950-1959)” which will both be present at the Book Festival.

Jacques Godfrain will also be there all day, as an author. He has written, with Jean Poujol, several books including a series of Tales and Legends: from Southern Rouergue, the Gorges du Tarn and very recently from the Cévennes, published by Éditions Toute Latitude.

Great meetings in perspective with former elected officials who have left their mark on the political life of the Aveyron department.
